Thanks for the pics.

I am still liking the K-x. You can get it at Currys at 449.99. with a 50-200mm Lens as well.

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/pentax-...58320-pdt.html

or 519 with the 55-300mm Lens (which I understand is the Better lens) with free delivery.

More expensive, but I will save up for it. Who knows the price seems to be coming down so it may not take long.

Remember there are often discount codes for Comet to get 5% off.

It is really worth getting the 55-300mm, it is a better lens.

Pentax K-x
Sony A450
Canon 1000D
Nikon D3000

Which one would be the best choice?

It is surprising how many different people give different answers! lol.

Asked the same on other forums and some say go with the canon, some say the Nikon and some say the Sony etc. Now you can see how i am completely baffled!

Some are brand loyal. I shoot a canon, but given the selection of camera, the pentax offers the most features and great performance. Very good AF system, very good low light performance, HD, good quality lenses not as many options as canon and nikon. But the ones they have are good ones. Great sensor. And it is very compact which for someone that travels allot with only one camera, can be important.

What lens would be a good choice if i wanted something along the lines of 18-135? Say with either Canon or Pentax? The Canon make is too costly so what should i look out for if i bought the 1000D and wanted an 18-135 IS lens with another manufacturer. Same goes for the Pentax. Thanks

The 2 kit lenses are actually very good, and cover a very good range. But if you were going with 1 lens, the canon 18-135 is a good range on a crop body. When I carry 2 lenses I carry the canon 28-135 ant 70-300, but that is me. Wide angle is not as important for what I shoot. But I would go with the sigma 18-250 on the pentax and the tamron 18-270 for the canon. They are more versatile lenses the 18-135.
