If you go with the pentax, get eneloop rechargeable AA. They work really well.

Class 6 and Class 10 cards are pretty cheap these days.
I have an 8GB Class 10 SILICON POWER which cost
about 16 on eBay. I also have a TDK Class 6 8GB which
cost about 12 in the local Tesco supermarket. Both work
very well in my Canon 500D.

Good luck with your choice tomorrow. I said this in a
previous post, but I will say it again. When you do buy
a new camera, you are likely to have worries and regrets
about your choice. My advice is simple: don't look back.
Out of the cameras you have listed, there is no 'wrong choice'.
I'm sure any of them will serve you very well as a first DSLR.

Well, hope you are all sitting down. Please, if you have any drinks in your hands put them down now! Keep a firm grip and try not to fall over or off a chair:

I BOUGHT MY FIRST DSLR TODAY!!!!!

Right, what did i buy?

Well, for 400 total i got all this, brand new from my local camera shop:

Canon 1000D with 18-55 (IS) Lens
8gig Memory card
UV Filter
Lens cloth
Camera bag

I have not even opened the box yet!! Been out and just got back in.

Will put it on charge and report back later.

Phew, can't believe i bought one at last!!

congrats, enjoy the camera. It will be frustrating at first till you figure out dslr shooting.

And if you need a long lens, avoid the canon ef 75-300mm, the tamron and sigma are ok, but if you want inexpensive but decent the ef 55-250mm

Good Luck with the new camera Koolpc. Looks like we are sending
you some cloud and showers for tomorrow, but hopefully you will
get some reasonable weather over the weekend.
