Default For indoor photoshoots which is best? 1) Nikon D90 or 2) Canon 550D ?

Hi

I want to buy a camera for professional indoor models photoshoots and sometime outdoor as well.

I have researched and found two good cameras

1) Nikon D90
2) Cannon 550D/Rebel T2i

Kindly tell me that which one is better from models photoshoots aspect?

Regards,

If you are shooting with a external flash both will go a nice job. The nikon has the best flash system system.

Both gives you access to great lenses. Between the two, I would try them out at the store and see which one fits your ergo preference better. Both are excellent cameras. You really can not go wrong with either.

eshban-

Welcome to the Forum. We're pleased that you dropped by.

How the camera feels in hand may sound far fetched. But it is a very real and very important factor. How a camera feels and how your hand spans the controls is very important.

Either of those cameras is capable of doing what you want quite well, and each as a good assortment of lenses to choose from. More than any other factor, it comes down to which one feels better to you.

Thanks for the replies. Well, I do not want to purchase seperate lens. For the time being i want to purchase a camera with its default lens

1) Canon 550D with 18-55mm lens

1) Nikon D90 with 18-105mm lens

Both are under Us$1000

Now please tell me that which is best for fashion photography.

Thanks

If you are only looking at those two options then out of them because of the lens range the nikon is better as 55mm is a bit short. I would still want better glad for 'Pro' use. There is also a huge part of the picture missing which is lighting, neither will do a good job without strobes indoors.

I do not think either of the lenses will give you great fashion results. You will want some better lenses right away. But you will need a flash right away as mark mention.

also you may want higher resolution with fashion. That is why the sony a900 was a popular pro fashion photography camera with it's high megapixel count.

An external flash would be a minimum and I would really expect a need for studio lighting, without good light you can have great lens/body combos and get poor results.

To the OP, are you already shooting fashion or any other portrait work or is sething completely new to you? What are your expectations for the use of your photographs etc as you could spend a lot of money and find it is in very much the wrong gear?

Default Nikon

I have a Nikon D90 and have been very, very successful with it. One of the biggest things for me was the Nikon CLS system. Its nice to not have to buy tons of equipment to have a few off camera strobes. You can view examples of what it is capable of at my site. InvisibleAttributes.com
