Default A difficult decision !

Hello everybody!

I'm looking to buy a new camera...and I can't decide which one to buy of course I hope to find some help here

Right now I own a Canon Ixus 55 and a Kodak Z612.

The Canon is annoying me a bit, because it's zoom is not enough, it has no IS and is not very good at low light.
Because I don't like carrying the big Kodak all the time I am looking for a new "pocketable" super zoom camera.

I looked at these so far:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1
Canon PowerShot SX210 IS (SX200IS)
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8

I our local store they told me to go for the Canon. But in reviews Panasonic was better...

What would you say?

Thx in advance!

Anny-

Welcome to the Forum. We're pleased that you dropped by.

Personally, I would not select any of your three cameras. Each of those three cameras has their own problems. My suggestion would be the Kodak Z-950 camera, that offers 12mp, 10X optical zoom, HD video and you can zoom while filming.

www.amazon.com has the Z-950 on sale for $110.95, which make it a lot of bang for the buck.

Hello Sarah!

Thank you for your advice! I hadn't heard of that camera before!
The review sounds great. I like the fact that you can put the ISO up high, because I'd like to be able to take pictures in low light. And the price is amazing, too!

But I have one more question...can you compare the size of the Z950 to one of the other cameras I mentioned? I can't really tell from the pictures and I would like to be able to put it in a relatively small bag to always take it with me :-)

Anny-

The size of the Kodak Z-950 is quite comparable to the TZ8. please refer to the attached photo that I just took the time to take, process, and post. I shows my Z-950 super-imposed on a USA $1.00 bill. That is the best I can I can do.

Wow, thank you very much for taking the time to take a picture!
This is amazing, now I can imagine the size a lot better!

I think I'm going to buy the Z950 then. I just looking to find a shop :-D

Anny-

If you reside in the USA, the best price is available at www.amazon.com where the Z-950 is selling for $110.95.

This price is really unbelievable, it's only 85 . But I have to order in Germany, so I had to look around a bit... The best price I found so far is 120 . But I think this still is a good price

Hello!

I got my 950 some days ago, and finally had some time to test.
The size is really good, you even can take it with you in small bags

But I think I'm doing something wrong...when I just point and shoot (one handed, which is what I do most the time) I get a lot of blurry pictures.

Can you tell me what this could be?
I switched IS to single, but in continuous mode it's the same...

I'm a little confused, because I never had that problem with my Kodak Z612.
