The Canon SX-200 received very mixed reviews. The primary complaints were (1) the inability to zoom while filming HD video. (2) The built-in flash unit pops every time the camera is powered on. It will not beat a Canon SD-870.

My suggestion remains the Kodak Z-950 which www.amazon.com has on sale at $110.95. The Z-950 has 12mp, 10X optical zoom, and HD video, and yes, you can zoom while filming. I purchased 2 Z-950 cameras for family use (we have 5 family member taking photos) and those Z-950 cameras have been great to use and everyone loves them. Please don't be fooled by the low price, the Kodak Z-950 is very much a quality camera, and about the size of the Canon SD cameras.

EDIT: I just checked www.amazon.com and the Kodak Z-950 is now back up to $131.00
