Default Face Detection Self-Timer camera other than Canon?

I'm looking to replace my Canon SD880 because the flash smokes whenever it goes off. I'm looking at the SX210 but am also considering Panasonic's ZS7. I've read here all the concerns about the SX210 so it makes me hesitant to get it.

One feature that I use extensively on my current Canon is the face detection self-timer. My SO and I use a monopod stick (xshot) to take self shots, so the timer comes in very handy. We can't use a normal timer because the camera freezes its settings according to whatever it's pointing at when the timer starts. That doesn't work for us because it isn't pointing at us at the time. The face detection mode doesn't freeze settings and start the timer until it detects a face. Perfect for our self shots. So this feature is pretty much a must-have.

Are there cameras other than Canon's that have something similar? I heard Samsung has smile detection. Does the ZS7 have something that can approximate this?

Sorry, no input but very interesting self shooting method. Thanks for sharing it.

A few companies do smile detection now but if all your concerned about is settings, such as focus, etc, then face detection would accomplish the same thing and nearly all of big manufacturers (including Panasonic) offer that now.
