replacing my old canon camera - help please
i am looking to replace my old canon sd850... i loved the camera, it took excellent photos and i was quite happy with it, unfortunately, the camera stopped turning on, i tried to replace the battery... and nothing happens so i'm on the search for a new p&s.. i am looking for another p&s that has the same or better IQ as my old canon sd850, i've read that the newer canons are good, but how is there IQ? i am thinking about just trying to get my hands on another sd850 if i can... if not i have been looking into the sd1400, sd4000, and sd980... i'm not sure which one would be close to the IQ that the sd850 gave me, or are all those cameras have better IQ?

i used my camera for vacations, macro, just out and about taking photos...
any suggestions?

Welcome to the Forum. We're pleased that you dropped by.

Because you are coming from the SD-850, is camera size a priority? Keeping with the SD-850's camera size there is the SD-4500 to consider. I you wanted to go to a somewhat larger size, the new Canon SX-130 looks very good.

i really don't want a bulky camera, i've had the sony h20 and that was too bulky for me...
is there a real big difference between SD4000 & SD4500?

Yes, there is! The Sd-4000 has less than 4X optical zoom, while the SD-4500 has 10X optical zoom.
