Default Just Got My Pentax Kx!

It's my first DSLR and I'm having a blast learning about the different functions.
Really loving it so far!

One quick question...
When I try to take a picture with the LV (Live View) monitor on, the camera's shutter snaps two times.
Why is this?

When you use 'Live View', the shutter is open. When you press the shutter button, the shutter closes, then it opens again to make the exposure and closes when the exposure time has been reached, and then it opens again to go back to 'Live View'.

Congrats on getting a great little camera! Now you can fall victim to LBA like so many of us. You'll get lots of good info here, and also over at PentaxForums.

What lens(es) do you have? When you think you want something more, ask yourself: What do I want to do that I can't do with what I have? The answer(s) may point you in strange and wonderful directions: fisheyes, ultra-long mirrors, enlarger lenses on bellows, infrared and actinic light and other spectrum-slicing, frankenglass, who knows? There are few limits.

Have fun!
