Hi koolpc there are some in the galleries now a couple of sun sets and pic of my grand daughters

Since your interest lies in large part in sports photography, the Canon T-1i or T-2i are logical choices, as Canon has very good sports focusing.

So, either purchase the Camera and the kit lens, if you want to keep costs down. Or purchase the two lens kit with the camera body, the Canon 18-55mm IS and the 55-250mm IS lenses.

The main issue will be to start learning your DSLR camera, and getting some experience and learning under your belt, so that you can get the most from your DSL camera.

Keep in mind that you are buying into a system. For sports photos, Canon will be a good start. The Nikon D-3100 would be good but it would restrict your lens selection .
