Default Travel lens

Hey guys, I'm back again for some more researching

So, I'm going to Paris in 2 weeks.

I have my 500D kit+ Metz 58 AF-1.

I feel the 18-55 will hold me back in France, and I'd hate to come back frustrated because I couldn't take the photos I wanted.

But there's a catch, as always in my posts- budget. Flying to France isn't cheap. And I still need money to have fun with.

So...what lens would be the best value for me? I know it would help if I could give a budget in numbers, but I really can't right now, that's why I need the best value- if a lens is really, really really worth it, I may ask for an advance on salary or something...

Thanks for reading, looking forward to your advices,

Just add the ef-s 55-250mm. Actually I found that my standard walk around lens the ef 28-135 was what I needed walking around paris. The ef-s 55-250 is about 250 dollars.

For some budget concerns.

But paris is very expensive if you eat where the tourist. the bastille area has some good places where the locals eat, and are price better then the touristy area. Get a package of metro tickets, best way to get around paris.
Super Frequent Flyer, no joke. Ex Patriot and loving it.
