Good point on the batteries -

I guess I shouldn't have assumed eBay was the best place to go for the cheapest sd cards. I agree, have heard about the bad chips being passed off as Sandisk.

So, eBay shopping is off the list (for the most part).

Ordered the T2i last night - should arrive next week! Woohoo!

Any recommendations for a backpack (especially one with a tripod holster)?

Some do, some don't. And it's not just the eBay ones that aren't as good.

The non-Canon batteries we've tried only have about half the charge that the Canon batteries do, despite showing identical specs on the box. *shrug* Actually though they cost 1/3 of the price, so are still marginally better value if you don't mind the hassle of charging all the extra batteries.

The flash point ones I got off of ebay actually last longer the the OAM one that came with the camera. And the ones that I use for my epl-1 last almost 2x as long. It comes down to good ebay sellers.

I just went with Canon batteries as I know they will work right and are fully compatable with the factory charger. They are only $48 so not a big issue for me.

I got with 2 flash point, for 25 dollars. No issues with the factory charger and the batteries. It comes down to what you are comfortable with. 96 dollars for 2 more batteries or 25 for 2.
