Yest Tullio, rebates sometimes give trouble.
However, EPSON sounds a reliable company so hopefully won't have issues with rebate.
I really don't need a photo printer at all. I'm just into this deal assuming I get $200 in ebay that'll take $650 off from initial $1100 bill making the final price of D3100 kit to $450 which is better than Pentax k-x current price.
For the same final price I'd get D3100 over k-x.
But on their regular price where D3100 is $150 more than k-x, I'd get k-x.
This printer deal is hard to pass as the price of printer is $465 and rebate is $450. The printer after rebate is only $15!

Edit:
I noticed that D3100 doesn't have built in focusing motor that means only AF-S lenses work for auto focus.
But Pentax k-x has built in motor that works with any k-mount lens for auto focusing.
Is this true statement?

Yes, it is. Be careful with those eBay deals. Also, make sure the rebate is coming from Epson. Contact Epson and ask them. I had a rebate problem once because I thought the rebate was being handled by a reputable company (HP) but it wasn't. It was a third party company issuing the rebates in the name of HP. In the end, I did not receive my rebate, HP said they were not aware of it and the company that was supposed to issue the rebate claimed they could not issue a second one. So, I paid more for something I did not even want.

Yes the pentax can uses any k-mount AF lens, and will AF with it. And you can mount MF lenses and still use it on the pentax.

The D5000, d3100, and d3000 can on use AF-s or AF-i lenses if you want it to AF.

Tullio,
The rebate is from EPSON directly and I talked to EPSON to confirm.

Shoturtle,
Yes, I heard manual focus is a pain so lets see.
K-x is 12mp vs d3100 14 mp and few other + and -.
Still has time for rebate till end of this month on D3100.

12 to 14 mp is nothing, I shoot the k-x and the t1i, 12 to 15mp you can not see the difference

these were taken with the 15mp canon, you really can not see a difference in resolution.

Thanks for info on size.
K-x with 18-55 and 55-300mm is now for $639 at Amazon.
That's good deal I think.
