i did not know that. can anyone else confirm that program mode is the same as auto, but allows you to actually change settings? (not that i don't believe you frank, I just want to be sure, lol)

After more research though, i am leaning more and more towards the pentax k-x

P is different form auto. You can pick the aperture you want, and the camera sets everything else. Auto you have no controls.

excellent camera, I have been using it this weekend to change things up from my t1i. The long zoom is really a good lens.

search ebay for ph-rba and ph-rbg. They are the hoods you will need for the 2 lenses. Like all other brands, they do not include them

i was just about to ask you about the hoods. Thanks!

If i wanted to shoot indoor volleyball and other sports, what kind of lens do i need? My budget is a few hundred.

Also, are the kit lens's ok for macro?

lastly, what is a good lens for portraits and such, so i can get a pretty small DOF?

sigma 50-150 2.8 or the 70-200 2.8,

macro add a 80 dollar canon 58mm 500D close up lens for the long zoom
