Default Reconsiderations

@LTZ
Thank you for bringing to my notice the issue with SX30.

I gave it a second thought and found Panasonic FZ100 better.
The amount of zoom it provides to capture shots of moon is sufficient for what I was looking for, plus the image quality is better than that of CAnon SX30 IS. Also, it has CMOS sensor adding to another plus point over SX30.

It also provides manual focus, but what I am not sure of is,
1. Does it provide manual setting of shutter speed and aperture too while taking photos?

I would appreciate if anybody could confirm this.

If you go to amazon and look at top view you will see that the mode dial has P, A, S, and M modes (or P, Av, Tv, M with Canon). Those are the manual modes, and it is an easy way to check for that.

I agree, the Fz100 seems to be a lot sharper than the Sx30. However, I have to say that the Fx100 had some really ugly color in those zoo shots IMO. I always go for yellows and reds over greens and blues. But that can be fixed in postp if it really matters.

Default Conclusion - FZ100

Hi
Guess I should go with Panasonic FZ100 then.

Thanks for helping me make my decision.
God Bless
