my guess is indoor low light with a non IS lens. Makes it a little harder.

If you are in the US and decided you are interested in another DSLR, you could trade your broken XS in on a Canon Refurbished camera for 20% off the refurb rate through the Canon Loyalty program. A T1i would be about 450 (depending on current price and your sales tax) shipped free. A T2i is about another 100. They come with a 90 day warrenty. there is a thread running on Fred Miranda (actually several) (http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/top...oyalty#8845636).

Some of the indoor lighting shots were not very good unless I used the flash, and then of course they were like just another flash-filled photo that any camera could do. I don't mind flash, but I don't like it when the flash takes over the picture.
Also, and perhaps this mostly had to do with me not knowing my proper photo settings and using mostly auto, but it didn't seem to have that crisp of photo quality. Viewing the photos at actual pixels showed that it was quite fuzzy, and not as crisp as I would have wanted it to be. Although maybe that's normal, or maybe it was to be expected with the settings/camera I was using.

Add a canon ef 50 1.8, it will make for a better indoor lens if you do not want to use a flash. It is about 90 dollars.
