Thanks, what I don't get i guess is if canon t2i has the lowest score of the bunch, (pentak k-r, sony a55 and a33, nikon d3100) how is it that gets really nice shots, and most people seem to recommed it over the others?
Not bashing anything as i said just trying to understand.. how it works...

canon and olympus generally get bad score. But they have the best jpeg engines in the industry olympus 1, and canon 2. Plus they have some nice lenses. There are allot of different things that are not accounted with just a sensor test. IQ is only partly the sensor. The other huge part is the lens.

And though they rate lower. The final package make up for it with all the other cogs. nice info but misleading.

There isn't a lot of difference in the DxOMark results for the T2i, A55 and K-r. See http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/en/.../(brand3)/Sony

Default Sony DSLR

I advise you to visit a local camera dealer when you are trying to make your decision about which DSLR to buy. Hold various brands in your hand to see if one "fits" better than the other. All modern cameras have their strengths and almost any one is likely to do the job you require. I happen to own Sony DSLRs - I bought them because Carl Zeiss lenses are available for them. The one feature they have which I consider essential is built-in image stabilization. With that, you don't have to pay extra for lenses with that feature. This means that many outstanding AF Minolta lenses may be purchased at a bargain price and used with image stabilization. I am familiar with Canon and I can assure you they sell top grade equipment. Some of my professional buds use Nikon and they are killer cameras. I hope you will not permit others to tell you what is "best". So many people seem to be so interested in justifying their own decisions that their advice may not be completely trustworthy. Anyway, what they like may not work so well for you.

In an earlier email I mentioned that I have pro friends who use Nikon. Most of them, however, use Canon. I see no justification for Canon getting a lower score unless the specific models tested put one specific Canon at a disadvantage.
