Even at ISO-1600, I got amazingly good JPEG output from my E-PL1. There's an E-PL1s coming soon from Japan with a somewhat updated kit lens and ISO-6400 ability. I wouldn't dismiss even the higher ISO 4/3 sensor output, especially when coming out of an Oly system via JPEG.

I like my D5000 (I found the D3100 too noisy at longer exposures and it had a disturbing penchant for banding and hot pixels). That said, I'd suggest a D90 from Nikon via their refurb department - the 18-105mm kit. Slap a 35mm or 50mm prime in there and you have a very flexible setup with D300s image quality. Not as sharp as the 18MP Canons but higher resolution is only part of the IQ 'picture'.

That, or a T2i/550D but brace yourself for either the cheap/old 50mm 1.8II or the newer $400 equivalent. On sale, the D90 is tough to beat, especially with twin control wheels, top lighted LCD and AF drive motor. The Canon 18MP bodies definitely have superior video, though.

The 550D is a better camera then the nikon, better AF system, canon has the better HD implication. But if you are not concern with HD and you do want to keep closer to your budget. Photographically the 500D and the 550D are very similar.

Hi again...I reading a very good review about Pentax K-r...i went to the store and hold it, it was very nice to hold, and seemed to be a nice camera. There is a kit with two lenses, 18-55 and 55-200 for arond the same price you would pay for canon 550D with only one 18-55 lens...
what do you think about this camera? is this a better buy?

appreciate any help

Hi Narges, I can't say better but my personal favorite is the k-r.Try and find it with the 55-300 lens which is much better. I too am in a similar dilemma of either getting the t2i kit($1000) or the k-r kit($900). The t2i has marginally more votes. I would suggest that U actually go to a store and hold them, whichever feels better get that.
