Default kodak z915 vs z950

my son refused a kodak z915 as a gift that we got him to be his backup camera, but last week he got to use it, and had to admit that for the price, it's actually quite good. but he likes to idea of HD video, so i'm thinking we could get him the z950 for christmas.

has anyone here used 'em both? i'm wondering if there are any downsides to the z950 as opposed to the z915.

thanks!

I have the Z950 and I have to say the video can be jerky and although you can use the zoom whilst filming the auto focus is sluggish.

good to know - the video on the z915 isn't jerky.

btw, does the 50 use proprietary batteries?

No, it has a rechargeable battery, spares are cheap enough on eBay. The camera itself is very good but if your main reason is for the video there are better ones out there.
