Default Casio Exilim EX-FH100 vs Panasonic Lumix ZS-5

Hi,

After finally deciding on a point and shoot camera Ive narrowed down the options to two cameras : the FH100 and ZS-5

What I really like about the FH100 is the fact that it takes very good pics in low light conditions.

In comparision, the ZS-5 is a pretty solid camera all around so that seemed pretty good as well.

The ZS-5 also has 14X zoom compared to casio's 10X zoom.

Hence I wanted to know - whats better - the additional zoom or better photos at night?

The FH100 actually doesn't take good low light pics at all, but it does take better low light pics than the ZS5. Anyway, if you need a faster a burst rate and slightly improved low light, go for the Casio. I think the ZS5 is better overall though, including daylight IQ. For the money though, you could probably get a ZS7 for nearly the same price on sale.

Have you seen this group camera test yet? Mind you, a lot of people howled in protest at the reviewers' conclusions but at least you can see some of the data and test images for yourself before making a decision. Take your time and look carefully at the sample images in addition to reading through the text carefully.
