Default Pocket p & s suggestion to replace sony t200?

Hi, i want to upgrade from my t200 because it has a terrible shutter lag. I keep missing pictures because it is sooooo sloooow. I want it to be a travel, take anywhere camera. Mostly candids, some landscapes.
Top priorities are IQ, little shutter lag.
As i understand it you can't have lona zoom and good low light in a pocketavle body, so what would you suggest that is kind of in between?
I understand s95 are great but i find the 3x too limiting for my needs, though i don't wan't a super zoom either, something above 5x would do.
To sum it up, low shutter lag, good IQ, best low light possible with a zoom above 5x...
I greatly appreciate your input and help

The key question, concerning this camera choice is simply how much do you want to spend? At the $300 mark the Canon SD-4500 is a reasonable choice.

Thank you Sara Joyce, have you had experience with the camera? Any other suggestions round the same price and about 200 and so?

apo-

If you want to reduce the price, but still have 10X optical zoom, look at theses cameras:

Canon SX-130
Kodak Z-950

I do not own the Canon SD-4500 yet, but it is on my Christmas list. I do own both of the last two cameras recommended, and I have been pleased with how both camera perform and their image quality. Naturally, the SX-130 is the better of the two and faster. If you can abide with the Z950's slower action, it is a value camera.

Thanks, the sd4500 seems like a very good choice. I found myself thinking about shockproof cameras. I enjoy motocross once in awhile and we have small kids, so beach, pools, parks, sandboxes and Disneyworld are all part of our world, so maybe it is the way to go.
I have researched some, but would really aprecciate your input and experience. What are your thoughts about the following:

Sony tx5, will it have the same soft output as the t200, now that I've got more into photography I've noticed this and don't like it.

Panasonic ts2/ts10?

Olympus tough 6020 and 8010 have't been able to find formal reviews on them.

Pentax w90 seems interesting but lack of IS concerns me, should I?

Fujifilm xp10 seems nice and cheap, but don't know about IQ, also lacks IQ.

Canon d10 seems to bulky but if it is the absolute winner in terms of IQ and performace would consider it.

Casio ex g1, should i include it?

Againg sorry for the long post and please share your experiences..

Here is the review for the 6020

http://www.steves-digicams.com/camer...20-review.html

also I own the Stylus 1050SW (since I think October 2009) and during last winters snow storms it worked perfect for me and has never stopped working since. Yes the zoom is limiting at times but for what you get its a realy good camera. I especially like the anti shake mode on it.

Photo 5, Ghana for the links and the input, they look really great if it weren't for the slow performance.
