Default What Camera to choose?

I am having trouble choosing a camera to get. I am coming from a Canon AE-1 Program film camera that my dad bought back in 1983, but I am tired of paying for film and film development.
Which of the following cameras do you guys recommend?
Panasonic FZ35
Panasonic FZ40
Panasonic FZ100
FujiFilm S200EXR
FujiFilm HS10
Canon SX30IS
My main concern is Image Quality, I mainly shoot landscapes, macros, and animals but would like a good all around camera. Video is a bonus and not really a major deciding feature. It can not cost more that $400.

David I would opt for the FZ35, very user friendly...the rest require a little more adjusting...any questions go to the Panasonic Forum here and ask away...

I agree with LTZ-

The Panasonic FZ-35 is an excellent choice.

Thanks for your help, I was leaning toward the FZ35 but wasn't for sure if the other ones had any advantages.

Another Question, would a telephoto zoom and macro lens attachment affect the image quality on an FZ35?

david-

I just have experience with the Panasonic Macro attachment, and it works very well with no loss of image quality.

Would the same hold true for a Panasonic Telephoto attachment?

David-

I do not know, as I have no hands on experience with it. However, based on my experience with the Macro lens (LC-55, I believe), the Telephoto Accessory lens is probably equally good.

I have decided to get a Panasonic FZ40. Many people here say that the image quality is the same as the FZ35 plus it might not be to long till the FZ35 is discontinued (with my luck it would be after I got the camera ).

David-

Yes, that is correct. The Panasonic FZ-35 has been discontinued.
