Default s95 the best low light camera?

I am looking for a camera, mainly for taking pictures of my kids, their activities and vacations. I prefer low light to super zoom because I know you can't have both in a compact. I keep hearing good things about the s95 but it is a hard camera to hold - no grip. I don't necessarily need a pocket camera per say so I am wondering what options are out there besides going to an SLR - because my main need is good auto mode. With little ones running around I have no time to tweak/adjust.

1. Great auto mode
2. Low light
3. good grip
4. zoom

Not too worried about video - rather sacrifice that for a better camera.
Budget is under $500

Thanks in advance!

S95 will do the trick and just add Richard's Grip on the S95 just a matter of peeling the backing and placing it properly...5 seconds and you are ready to shoot...the S95 does have much better texturing than the S90 increasing the grip significantly...

Richards Grip for the S95 and the Installation Instructions are there also:

Suzanne-

The SD-95 would also be my first choice as well. However, if you want a lower price, Amazon has just reduced the SD-4000 to $US 209.95.

Are the low light pictures similar with the SD4000?

Suzanne-

The Canon S-90 and S-95 have better low light capability due to their larger imager, and their faster lenses.
