Cole-

Amazon has the black SD4000 for $233.10, no coupon code required.

Here are a couple of SD4000 photos. First an Informal Portrait:

You are correct. On 12/14, Amazon did another 1 day sale at $233.10. Today, 12/15, the price is back up to $259. I would guess that will be their strategy from now until Christmas. So it might be worthwhile to check the price occasionally.

Sarah,
Are you saying that you think Amazon will put this camera on sale again (maybe not at the price you got, on that special Gold Box day) in the upcoming days? I'm willing to wait and lurk on Amazon for it.

Here is the price history in December 2010: 1st:$259, 8th:$206 (1 day), 14th:$233 (1day). The price is back to $259 today, 12/16, But it would seem logical that it might come down again.

Here is another option: Canon USA has a 1 day sale (today 12/16, while supplies last) on Powershot refurbs, including the S-4000 at $167.99.

WOWOWOW. Sarah (in your opinion), do you think (manufacturer) refurbs are worth the risk? That's a great price. Thanks for the earlier quick reply!

With tax/shipping, it comes out to $202... which still makes it a reasonably good deal, if the product is worthy. (though if I struck when you did, I could have a new one thru amazon for $7 more

The SD4000 on sale today, 12/16, at Canon USA gives you a 90 day warranty. To really protect yourself you would have to add a Square Deal or Mack third party warranty.

Based on my experience with Canon Refurbs, which has been 100% perfect, you should be at ease. But the extra warranty might be justified on the basis of the logic that says: "If anything can go wrong, it might!"
