I sincerely believe that the Kodak M575 is the better of the two cameras. I base that on my experience with the AX250. In the auto mode the AX250 is highly likely to select a much higher than required ISO setting than the photo environment requires. The result, with a 14mp camera with high pixel density is that image quality is measurably decreased.

The AX250 will often select ISO 1600 which increased the shutter speed and puts a far smaller load on image stabilization, but at the cost of image quality. Merry Christmas!

Both cameras are about the same in very good lighting. However, that ISO problem will also adversely effect HD video as well. Thus, I would stay away from the AX250.
