Default Lumix FZ100 or PowerShot SX30IS

I currently have a Lumix Fz 35 and I think it's a great camera but I'm getting itchy for something new.

I have narrowed it down to the FZ100 or SX30IS. Both seem to be great cameras. Just wondering what your opinions are....

Merry Christmas !

I think you'd probably be happy with either but for stills I'd give a slight edge to the Canon and for video/burst, the edge obviously goes to the FZ100.

You may want to look at the Panasonic FZ40. It has the same zoom as the FZ100 (although it lacks some of the features), it costs less, and from what I have read it takes much better pictures that the FZ100 or SX30IS.

Thanks David. I'll add the FZ40 into the mix.

Stanley I own all three FZ40-FZ100-SX30...if you like to PP then the SX30 is a good camera but slow fps...the FZ40 and the FZ100 have better SOOC photos...the FZ100 not as detailed as the SX30 but better tone and color to my eyes?...the FZ40 is better all the way around to me, but I have used the FZ35 for sometime so this may be a partial review...but this is my second SX30 Canon and both have disapponited at the SOOC shots...the size...slow fps...slow/low AF in lower light...

If you're ok with the specs compared to the FZ100, then I'll second the vote for the FZ40. It's IQ is clearly better than the FZ100.

Thanks LTZ and FiveO ! Do you guys agree that the FZ 40 would be better than the FZ35 for indoor/low light situations? I shoot mostly still shots in iA or P mode and that's the only thing that was a little disappointing with the FZ35.
I really appreciate your input and advise !!!
PP ?
SOOC?

I don't think the FZ40 is any better than the FZ35 in low light for the simple fact they have the same size sensor...you are probably looking for something like the S95 if you are indoors and in low light a lot...

Agree again. Or you could check out the Fuji S200EXR w/ 14.3x zoom. Not the brightest lens but has a 1/1.6" sensor.
