But if you get the 55-200, then you're more likely to make do with it than to save up for the 55-300. And you won't ever be able to get the 55-300 this cheap again.

That is true what TCav said, in kit form the DAL 55-300 is great value, the DA 55-300 us a 350 dollar lens, vs 160 dollars in kit form with the DAL 55-300. They are optically the same, the DA just has a little better build quality with a metal mount plate and a MF clutch.

I ended up buying the Pentax k-x with the 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses for $543 from amazon.

I hope to get it in 2 days and I will post my opinions on it. It was a very good deal.

My pentax k-x and 2 lenses arrived today. It looks great and seems very easy to use. It is very user friendly. I tried out both the 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses.

The 18-55mm is pretty useless, but I really like the 50-200mm lens.

I really bummed out that my others 2 old lenses Sears didnt work on the camera. Does anybody know why they fit on the camera perfectly, but dont work?

Her lenses are very very nice, but It would let me take a photo with them on.I like the camera so far and cant wait to use.
