Default Sony HX5V; H55 or Canon SX210IS??

Hi everyone,

I just sold a Canon SX20IS because I'm looking for a more easy to handle, but still powerful camera. It also has to have a decent optical zoom (that's why I rejected the Canon S95).

I've always bought Canon before, but this time I'm considering Sony because it has some new interesting features such as sweep panorama, low light benefits and the GPS function.

What I want is the best picture quality I can get from a compact camera. I appreciate any advice from you experts.

Thanks in advance... and sorry about my english... I'm a spanish speaker!.

The SX210, the Sony H55, and Sony HX5 have all received so-so reviews as they each have some flaws. Uf you desire to stay in the Canon line, look at the SX130.

Otherwise the Panasonic ZS7 is a good choice in the travel zoom category.

Well thanks very much to Sarah and Rebs. I hadn't considered another brand besides sony or samsung. The ZS7 has very good reviews. No sweep panorama?... who cares anyway?

I'll throw in a vote for the ZS7 in the travel zoom category also. Sweep panorama sounds good in theory but the images are much lower resolution than the regular still images. As Sarah Joyce said, if you don't mind a slightly bigger camera, the SX130 is also a good choice.
