No, the T3 and the k-x has the ability to shoot a EV bracket, something that is not an option with the d3100. The is also some lens issues with the d3100. They do not have AF motors in the body so the some of the cheaper lenses will not autofocus on the d3100. Like the good but cheap 50 1.8 that sells for 150 dollars.

But it does shoot 1080 HD.

I'm no Nikon expert but I believe the D3100 is a pretty good camera for the money. Just remember that you're buying into a system, and the body you get will dictate what lenses you can use.

Actually, are you comparing like with like? Both bodies complete with kit lens?

check their seller ratings from the retail seller sites. Don't know much about tristate, always good to check.

I bought my k-x from Amazon. First time I bought it with 18-55 and 50-200 mm lenses. Returned a week or so later because I wanted to get the 55-300mm lens instead. Had no issues with the return. Shipping was fast and cheap. If you're going to order on-line, make sure you go with someone reputable, just in case you decide to return it. I'd rather spend a few dollars more to purchase from someone who will easily accept returns.
