It is not easy to compare the two. The Canon is a recent model, the Nikon
is more than five years old. For price/performance, I would compare the
Canon to the Nikon D90 or D7000.

I would take the Canon 60D over the Nikon D200. The Canon has
a newer generation CMOS image sensor with better low light
performance than the 10MP CCD sensor in the Nikon. The Canon
has 18MP. It also can record HD video.

The Canon eos 60d is amazing. I'm SO TOTALLY Impressed!!!!!

The reason I ask... is because I found a photographer online... abbie warnock... and she used to use a Nikon D200. I loved the quality and texture of her pix... I almost bought a Nikon D200 instead of the Canon 60D.

BUT... I bought the Canon because its newer and has such good reviews.

No need to second guess yourself. You really made a very good choice and it is the better camera then the d200

AWESOME!!!

I'm so tickled to have the 60d. I wish I was more familiar with all the technical stuff.
I've took pix for a couple of years, and I've used the crutch also known as the AUTO SETTINGS!!!

With this camera.... it pushes me to want to become the best I possibly can be

I know what you mean. I was never big with off camera flash. But with the wireless abilities with the 60D, I started with just playing around with my flash for off camera effects. And I have added a second flash, even a higher end then that one I had. So I can flash form different zones. I might even add a third to use all 3 channels. And really get crazy with ocf. LOL.
