Default Minolta XD-11 vs Minolta SRT-101. Which one should I get?

I am not sure which one to get. Can anyone help? Which one is a better overall camera. Any concerns I should have with either one?
Thanks in advance.

G'day vs

Just trying to get this right ...
SRT-101 was a 1970s film camera, very good in its day. but that was a long time ago & you want to buy one today ... okay -> what sort of use do you expect to put this camera to??

Regards, Phil

I just want to get a Manual slr. I use to have a SRT-101. They are great cameras, better than today's non digital in my opinion. But I do not know which model to buy from the 2.
Thanks

If memory serves me correctly, the xd11 came out in the later 70's, making it a newer model camera. I know it was similar to my canon ae1 in that it had aperture priority ae, but also shutter priority ae. It was also smaller and lighter than previous models. Ihe srt101 was a fine camera, but if you want some automation, then the xd11 might be the one.

SRT-101 has no split viewfinder and it is kinda hard to focus but has MLU. Try the SRT-102 with split prism finder (some have MLU as well) or 303b (202 in USA) or if you want to mess with electronics get an X-570. If you decide for the XD-11 check the XE-1/7 or XE-5 first, they are quite heavy but built like tanks and balance nicely all heavy lenses. I currently have an 101/102/XE-5/X-570, but I use mostly the XE-5 due to my fat fingers and the nice weight it has. The XD-11 is elegant and closer to Leica/Olympus sizes of that time but I have never used it, people who have it love it though.

SRT's work with zinc air batteries (just bend the pin a bit - no need to buy adapters) while X*'s work with silver oxide cells which are easy to find. The X-570/X-700 are prone to capacitator failures.

Just spend the less you can on the body, but get a working one and keep some money for the Rokkors. 28mm-2.8/50mm-1.7/135mm-2.8 as primes and 35-70mm-3.5/70-210mm-4 zooms will set you back approximately 180USD but you will feel complete
