So I went to the store, but haven't bought anything yet. There is a T2i open box for $799, and the T3i is $999 with a bag, SD card, filter, and extra battery. The D5100, at a different store is $899, but I liked the feel of the Canon's better. All of these are with the basic kit lenses. I am not sure what to do. Should I get the $799 T2i (mind you it's not absolutely brand new), or the T3i with all those extras?

Default A33 for $600

If you like the Sony A33, it can be had for $600 with a $50 rebate:

yeah though choice...

why don't you just go to BestBuy and pick up brand new t2i for $799 just tell em online price match please~! It should be displayed for $849 in store but you can tell them to price match it or order it right from the store(using customer support) and pick it up an hour later

You say T2i over T3i? That's what the girlfriend says too. Any other opinions?

i see no other options. It's either t2i or t3i both good cameras. But if you gonna go with t3i for 1k make sure it's a good branded package not some Chinese cheap bag with class 2 sd card otherwise walk away. it's 799 vs 899
  • Vari-angle display
  • Scene intelligent Auto Mode
  • 'Basic+' creative controls in scene modes
  • 'Creative Filters' can be applied to images in playback mode
  • Multi-aspect ratio shooting (3:2, 4:3, 16:9, 1:1, previewable in Live View)
  • Integrated Wireless flash controller with multi-flash support
  • 'Video Snapshot' mode
  • Auto Lighting Optimizer now adjustable in 4 levels
  • Feature Guide
  • Image rating (1-5 stars)
  • Eye sensor for LCD display replaced by 'DISP' button
  • Marginally larger and heavier
DO you think this features worth 100 dollars?

The only thing i like is that Vari-angle display and multi aspect ration which only works in live view mode. Some say if you really thinking about t3i you better take a closer look at 60D

You can order the t3i on Adorama for $849, $949 with the kit lens. Usually the "stuff" that comes with the camera (like the sd card, etc.) is very cheap when they package the bundled deals like that. The t21 is $849 with the kit lens. You also have the option of buying from Adorama on ebay and earning ebay bucks which can be applied to future purchases. Either way, no tax if you're not in New Jersey.

only problem with the sony it the 75-300 lens is pretty poor, and the other options out there for a long zoom are not that much better. tamron and sigma low end 70-300 are not that good.

And unless you get really heavy into video where the digital zoom would come in handy, or do allot of tripod work where the swivel lcd comes in handy or allot of off camera flash. There is no difference in photos between the 2 camera as a photography too. Both take really nice photos. And have much better jpegs then the nikon or the sony out of camera. Unless you are a raw shooter, and have a great workflow. Then you can make much nicer jpeg then the in camera nikon or sony jpeg.

Even better! I've had excellent experience buying from both.

Ok, so I finally purchased a D7000 after reading and watching countless reviews. I needed something a bit better and more advanced than the original choices I was looking at. I got a deal at my local camera shop I couldn't pass up. $1130 CAN for the body + 2 8GB class 10 SD cards.

I hope I made the right choice!

Thanks for all the help.
