Default Olympus SZ30MR

Has anyone had any experience with one of these yet? I know they are fairly new. I can't seem to find info or reviews on them anywhere.

I Just about had my mind made up on a sx30 and then i came accross this new model from Olympus. It is way samller than the sx30 and other than the zoom being 24x as opposed to 34x it seems to be close to the same quality. If this is the case i think i would choose this simply based on size.

Anybody get their hands on one yet to test out. If so i would love to see some images.

Thanks

Default Just ordered SZ-30MR

Seeing as how this thread has 106 views and no replies i assume nobody has one yet and that people are interested in it. I can't find a single review online that is an actual consumer review.

It looks nice so i ordered one today from Vistek. (it's a canadian company so don't be surprised if you haven't heard of it) Ill post a review and some images when i get it.

Cheers

Default I owned it last week

Hello,

Sorry for my bad english, I am french...

I bought the SZ 30 MR last week

The good news : small size, light weight, impressive Zoom 24X 25-600mm (with good light, see attached files), very good HD video with zoom and sound, low noise at ISO 800 and 1600, good burst modes, easy panorama mode...

The bad news : Very poor battery life, the pictures are a bit soft, autofocus struggle a lot in low light at end of zoom.

Default SZ 30 MR : In camera shadows adjustment

A drawback of the SZ 30 MR is the lack of manual controls : You can't adjust aperture and speed. You can't even adjust contrast and sharpness (a shame for a such priced camera).
The camera has however an automatic shadow adjust process that works fairly well (see the 2 pictures below, the first without shadow adjusment, the second with...)

Default Full size images please?

Hi,
your English is great! - and many thanks for the photos, there is a great shortage of SZ-30MR images at the moment.
Your posts are web-sized images, so it isn't possible to look at the fine detail and judge image quality, purple edging, etc. Would you mind posting a few full size shots please? Only if you have the time though.
Perhaps a wide, mid, and long shot - trees and grass seem to provide a good test due to the fine detail, but whatever you have to hand out of your window would be great :-)

Whe you say 'poor battery life' could you explain please? How many shots are you getting?
