Default Canon 60 D vs Nikon D 7000

So finally its down to 2 cameras.

But what I want to ask here is, which brand to go with?

I shoot wildlife, but also family, landscapes, etc. I also would like better shots in low light than my FZ38 can do.

So which lenses to go with? Canon lenses look expensive, but Nikon dont look any cheaper.

I dont care about video at all.

Nikon D7000 is better. I dont know much about them but from side by side specs i can say that Nikon is better for stills. It has 39 focus points when 60d has only 9 point, 100 % viewfinder coverage, 6 fps (60d 5.3) and iso range of 100 - 25600 60d has 100 to 12800. And i think that D7000 a step ahead of 60d it's more 7d vs D7000

so the question is 7d or d7000?

But then again if you buy 60d you can save some and buy lens like telephoto or accessories

If its going to be Nikon, what lenses should I start with?

For Canon I was going to get kit 18-55 and 70-300 is usm or Tokina 80-400.

Whats the equivalent in Nikon?

The d7000 is not as good for wildlife shooting if you are taking them in movement. The 60d has the better af system, and can shoot 50 frames before buffer lag. The nikon can only give you abou 14-16 frame before it slows down to 1fps. Both af systems uses 9cross type af point. These are the more accurate ones, and will be the ones you want to use. The canon does af slight faster then the nikon in lab test.

The canon has the better hd system.

Paper specs had the nikon leading, but when in the real world they run neck and neck.

I would consider the canon, and used the savings for better lenses. As it is couple hundred less then the nikon, and just as good for general and leads in action shots and hd.

I'm also more inclined to Canon, issue is lenses.

Anyways, will start cheap, and work my way up I suppose, Tokina 80-400 here I come...
