Default DSLR with good macro and video?

I currently have an Olympus C-4000. I love the macro/super-macro feature, and the custom memory settings. I do a lot of small product photos (beads and jewelry), and a lot of outdoor closeup nature shots while hiking. While the Olympus has served me well, the buttons are losing sensitivity, and I'd just plain like to upgrade to a DSLR. I first learned photography in college, with my still-trusty Canon AE-1. I miss its features and the ability to 'play' with shots in the camera instead of via software. Call me old-fashioned.

So, please give me suggestions on where to start looking. The macro feature is the most important one, followed by easy-to-use configuration, and video capabilities.

Thanks much!

And can you explain how you "played" with shots in the AE-1? Or did you mean the Olympus?

The new Olympus M4/3 cameras have a lot of scope for playing in the camera. (It's all via software by the way, just software that happens to be built into the camera.)

Check out the EP-L2 - might be just the sort of thing you are looking for.

On the other hand there are a huge range of DSLRs available, budget is the most obvious determinant of where to start.
