There are couple of flash options. If you are looking for a good mid grade flash in the 200 dollar range, the nissin di622 mkII, metz 50 AF-1 and of course the canon 430 exII. They are the best options out there.
I can second the recommendation on the Nissin from experience with their di866. They make an excellent product.

There is a mkII of the di866 now, it sells for 400. It is a high end flash like the metz 58 AF-2 and canon 580exII.

Yes, I KNOW, UGHHH, more stuff to put on my want list, LOL!!!!! Unfortunately, my want list exceeds my budget, at least according to my wife.

My want list goes like this, in order of priority:

1. New monopod: Manfrotto 681B
2. Sigma TS-41 tripod collar for my 120-300mm f2.8
3. Canon battery pack for my flash
4. 35mm prime
5. New Nissin Di866 MKII
6. Canon 1D MKIV

I need to inherit a lot of money!

I think I am leaning towards the Canon Speedlite 430EX II

it is not a bad flash, But it is the least powerful of the 3 in the 200 dollar range.

Hi the di622 is a really good flash and as long as you don't want to use a wireless remote it is ok if you do want to use it off camera flash then you can but it will need a cable

Just as an FYI, you can get the Di866 professional for under $300 on ebay & just over at Adorama, for the newer version. It is a much better flash than the 430 EX II, the menu system makes it much easier to use & it's even brighter than the 580. It does do wireless ttl.
