Default Canon 550D or Fujifilm S3

Hey guys,
Im not too sure where the best place to post this is, but im not sure what to do...
i currently have an EOS 550D (6 months now) and it seems to work pretty well.... i use it for mainly night photography, landscape and wildlife, (hopefully soon i will try a bit of fashion)

A friend of mine who is a professional photographer has offered to give me his Fujifilm S3 for free... he claims some of the buttons dont work properly anymore (but i can get that fixed)
Is it worth taking? (i dont want to take it for the sake of taking it)... is there anything that i can do with the S3 that i cant do with the 550D? or something that will turn out better with the S3?

I know the S3 has a nikon mount (i have tons of nikon lenses) so thats not a problem....

any help would be appreciated

The fuji is a older design, with a cdd sensor, so it is good upto 1600iso. It is the same as the d200. So if you want to run 2 system since you have nikon glass. It can be fun to play with. But it is 2006 technologies.

Think your 550D has a much nicer lcd, better low light. And have HD, so I would not get rid of or replace it with the fuji.

Thanks for the info... i am not planning on replacing my 550D, im thinking more as having it as a second camera... perhaps there are some things i can do with it that i cant do with my canon?
Also, i would have thought that S3 would be better in low light as it is 6mp instead of 18mp...

cdd is only good upto 1600iso, above that a cmos sensor is much better. But if you print large 6mp is going to get pixelated.

it wont let me do things i cant do with the canon?

Yeah, the canon is more versatile of a camera in a smaller package. But it will let you use some of the nikon lenses you have.

As above really plus you would have to get it fixed so theres going to e a cost there. Stick with the t2i/550d and I would look at upgrading from there.

im not sure which buttons dont work (hopefully ones i wont be using)
but i thought it might be interesting to be able to use all my old nikon lenses...
