Default TWEENS, DURABILITY and AFFORDABILITY...

Do they mix? If so, which camera(s) should I be looking at? I'd like to get my 12 year old twins a camera they could take on their Boy Scout outings, etc... so I'd like recommendations of something that (a) isn't going to bankrupt me when they lose it in 3 days.... (b) can survive 12 year old boys... and (c) is going to give them the ability to take pictures AND video. (Not too concerned about quality -- that will come as they get older.)

Is there anything on the market that might fit the bill??

Maybe Fuji's XP30 might fit the bill...
By waterproof/shockproof standards is very inexpensive and takes reasonable photo's-
Has GPS too... though I'd turn that off as apparently drains the battery very quickly..!

G'day mox

I would go with Simon - tweens can be [I remember too] destructive little buggers as they chuck stuff around ... so a shock/waterproof camera sound about right

Regards, Phil

Also Fujifilm XP10 or XP20 if you can still find them for a steal.
