Default Backup to DSLR: FZ38 vs S95

hey guys

Got my DSLR recently so my previous camera a FZ38 isn't getting out much.

Thinking about selling it and replacing it with a more pocketable camera like the S95.

Think it's a good deal?
Other P&S you would recomend?

Cheers

I have the S95 and am quite happy with it. The S100 images are bit less sharp and contrasty, but the S100 has Full HD and 24mm so that's worth considering also if the additional cost isn't a factor. If you don't mind something a little bigger, the Oly XZ-1 is very nice.

You are looking at 2 completely different camera, each has their pros and cons. Do you want zoom or do you want a good low light and higher IQ pns for your backup?

I prefer higher IQ, closer to dslr quality..but i would like a bit of zoom, i'm not asking for as much as the fZ38 but a bit more.
TBH i'm only selling my fz cause it doesn't fit in a pocket..otherwise it's a superb camera.

S95, S100, XZ-1, LX5 ... all good choices and none offer much zoom.

+1 ib Five0's list. Those would be the top choices for your requirements.
