Default canon ELPH 300 or 500

Does anyone have one of these and what can you say about it ? I am looking for a camera with a faster lens than my Nikon S8100.

Why didn't you just search Amazon Shopping for it?

I believe he was looking for opinions on these cameras from members here. Yes, Amazon reviews are another good source for reviews. I have several of these ELPH's, they're superb little cameras for their size and price.
There's a new HS series out- the 100, 310 & 510HS as well as the 300,500 & 4500. You can see the diffferences between the various models here: http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/p...igital_cameras
The specs vary as to lens speed, zoom length and so on.
I have the new 100HS, a couple of 300's and a 4500- and I could recommend any of them as good solid values. I got the 300's and the 100 HS for digiscoping, btw.

Default shutter lag ?

how is the shutter lag, time between pictures and the lens speed ? Are these very good for action pics of grand kids and school sporting events ?

I appreciate the help,

hi, not sure about shutter speed, lag time etc. seems to work pretty darn fast. i've managed to get some nice photos of my uncooperative cat. so i imagine it would work for grandkids and action pics.

hope that helps? good luck on your search.
