Default Bridge Camera

I have a Canon Powershoot sx100 IS. I'm considering the possibility to change it, buying a bridge camera with a good zoom and, most important, with the possibility to use the camera in fully manual mode. Since I have also a reflex, I just looking for a camera to be used when I can not (or I don't want) to take with me my reflex. For this reason, I do not want to spend more than 300 euros (approximately 400 $).

So, the question is: what are the best camera in this middle range of price that I should consider?

Thanks to all!

Daniele

Current ones to look at are- Canon SX40HS,Panasonic FZ-150,Fujifilm HS20(HS30 due out),SONY HX100v and the Nikon P500(510 due out soon).
Prices vary from country to country- but the ones listed shouldn't be too far away from your price.

Thanks for your suggestion. Probably the camera costs a little bit more here in Italy, than in your country... The camera you suggest me are a little bit more expensive than my budget. Some cheaper suggestions?

Thanks!

At the cheap end is the GE X500. Then you step into the lower priced Fuji's- such as the S2750,the S3400 and the S4000. Older models such as Panasonic's FZ45 or the FZ100,Fuji's HS10,the Nikon P100 and the Pentax X90 are still available in some areas. Canon's SX30 is now discounted and Nikon's P500 can be had quite cheaply if you hunt around.

how about the panasonic fz-47? it seems like it might be in your price range, and has the features manual shooters use.

I have always used Canon, and I think they produce very good camera... Just looking to Amazon.it

Canon Powershot SX230 HS -> 210 euro
Nikon Coolpix P500 -> 295 euro
Canon PowerShot SX40 HS -> 380 euro

Probably the price is also connected to the value of the camera, even if I do not know if the SX40Hs is so superior to the Coolpix P500. Any idea?

Thanks to all
