Default low priced high speed in Macro mode with good focus

Hi,
I am looking for a camera for work that can focus well in Macro mode for high speed video.
420 fps would be the max that I need.
I am hoping to spend less than $400.
Need to focus on water drops coming out of the end of a hypodermic needle.
Thanks!
TR

G'day TR

Goodness me - 420fps > not come across that one before - how specialised is it??
My wife's FZ100 comes close to many of your specs, but 420fps has got me

Regards, Phil

Default 420 fps

Oh, I thought that was one of the slower speeds out there for "high speed video"?

I think the Casio FH25 used to record 420fps video- and even 1000fps at small resolution..!!

Yes, I used that one at the last lab I worked at, but it is twice as much as I can spend.
I can go to a lower Frame per second rate, what are the common steps of speed?
Thanks!

Casio's EX-FH100 is less expensive and still has the crazy video speed..!
With regards frame rates- I'm no guru with regards video, but ones I'm aware of are 24/30/50/60/120/240/420/1000fps....

Default Where can I get one?

looks like this is what I want, but so far I have not found a seller that I trust.
Amazon has one that will (might) ship from Japan, with no battery, otherwise they want $899 for it.
Got any suggestions? I could not find it on Steve's site or I would get it.
Thx,
TR

The Casio FH100 was good, and cost about $200 8 months ago. You can get a silver one for $399 at Amazon. The ZR100, which I have, does high speed video too, at slightly lower resolution. I think you can get that one for less than $300.
The Fuji HS20exr and its successors, the HS25exr and HS20exr, do high speed video too. The HS20exr is just over $300 at a number of reputable etailers.

Thanks I ordered the FH100 from Amazon, unfortunately it is the Japanese model and comes without a battery for shipping reasons.

Thanks everyone for your input,
TR
