Default Vacation camera

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times...but..

We are going to Disney in August. I have a Dslr but need something smaller, since I'll 2 kids worth of junk.

I just looking for something that will take good pictures.

Not really sure about budget. obviously I would like the best for the price, but I'm not expecting to spend 200 and get a camera that would do everything. So maybe about 400 .

I've just started looking so I'm not leaning towards anything yet.

Thanks!

Yep.... 1001 actually...!
If you can accept the limitations of a pocketable compact- when compared to an SLR- then your choice is rather large.
Maybe you might need to ask yourself what you'll be shooting on this trip....
Will you be rafting...(getting the camera wet) ?
Will you be shooting in low light (party's/fairgrounds at night....) ?
Maybe consider a reasonable zoom range- for picking out details/parts on tall buildings/landmarks- or for those candid moments when your family think you're not looking..!
A wide angle lens,I would say,is also a must- for group/family shots/landscapes/theme parks etc...
How small does it have to be..? Pocket compact size- or up to "bridge" size..?
Consider battery power/sources whilst away (are you abroad..?).

Just a few things to mull over...

I took both my Canon S95 and my Panasonic FZ150 to Disney when I went in March. The FZ150 was an absolute necessity at Seaworld. If I went again and could only choose one cam, I'd take the FZ150.
