Default Olympus SH-50 or Pano TZ40

It was much easier back in the day I got my Olmpus C-750UZ, and it was Steve Digicams forum, that finally made me decide on the C750, after reading many reviews. Now, there is so many more compact UZ out there.

From my sample pics. I would expect the same and better performance in the new digital camera, here is a link of my pics Ive taken with the C750, I like snow, nature, macro pictures

Naturally, I was thinking of another Olympus camera.
This time, looking at the video also, as well as still images. Both havent perfect scores for images, and various reviews out there. Steve Digicam seems to give the SH-50 an over good review.

The SH-50 Stylus OR
Panasonic Lumix TZ40

Thanks Sammy

I have both the Panasonic TZ40 and FZ200, they are fast reliable cameras. The FZ200 is a bridge and larger. But it's an excellent allround camera with a fast (f2.8) 25-600 mm zoom lens and is very good for nature- and macrofotography.

Beautiful pictures on your Flickr page.

Much like many older camera's, their not so wide angle lenses (38mm in the case of the Oly') lent itself to very good macro performance- getting you closer by default- and the Oly had a fast lens..!
Look for a very close focus distance in your next camera to compensate..!
Both the TZ and SH have a CFD of 3cm....

Hello Simon
Thank you
Yes i can get really close to get the macro shot, but takes a few shots to get a one I like to keep. CFD is what i need to look for, outside the mentioned ones what else is good? Both TZ40 and SH50 have mixed views on image quanlity, I think the TZ videos look a bit better, ive seen on youtube. which one to make a choice on.

Hello Rudi,
The FZ200 seems to have nicer photos than the TZ40. How you a favourite of the 2. Video looks good on the FZ200.

Default Fz200

The FZ200 is an excellent allround camera, good for nature and macro
foto's and video. This camera is praised all over the world.
And there lots of tutorial videos by Graham Houghton on Youtube.
He has also written a book about the FZ200, it is free to download
as e-book.

i owned the FZ150, which was a great camera - feature rich (and those are features i actually used), snappy, very nice to shoot with, good video. the FZ200 improves on this with a fast f/2.8 throughout the zoom.
