Well, since there is no such thing as a true purple in RGB color system, we all struggle.

Completely agree!

Wonder how well all those rather expensive fixed FL point&shoots sold for Sigma.
Always thought they were a marketing experiment, or targeting a very eccentric audience like the Leica range finder crowd

Good cameras, but out of reach for many.

Because of the way that Bayer Filters work, Red and Blue end up having half the resolution of green.



So the Foveon sensor does a better job with red and blue. The Sigma Photo Galleries feature many photos taken with the Foveon sensor that show high detail in reds and blues (and even some purples) that might be difficult with a conventional image sensor.

They may have a point.
