Default Canon 6D or Nikon D610?

Hi

I am looking to upgrade from Canon T3i to a full frame camera.
I mostly shoot landscapes, Slow shutter and night photography.
Can someone please suggest which would be the right camera and worth the money?

Note: I am looking for some unbiased suggestions.

Thank you

According to DxOMark, they both have very similar image noise levels, but at lower ISO settings, the Nikon has much greater dynamic range which will help with most of what you want to shoot. Plus there's the 24MP vs. 20MP thing.

Thanks TCav, I have read that in higher ISOs which would be needed in night photography; the nikon fails to perform as well as canon. As per the reviews both cameras are equally matched, with canon edging out nikon on overall detail; is that right?

At lower ISOs, the Nikon has more Dynamic Range which will help with your Landscape and long shutter speed work. At higher ISOs, there isn't a significant amount of difference.

They both have similar image noise across the range of ISO settings, plus the Nikon has greater resolution, which means that what little noise the Nikon has will be less apparent than the noise from the Canon.

So, no, I don't believe the Canon would out perform the Nikon under any set of circumstances. For me, the primary criterion is image quality, and, though it's close, objective tests performed by DxOMark show the Nikon edging out the Canon:

I think you're going to find the real world differences are minute with regards to IQ. Your lens and tripod are going to be worth much more looking into than the body. As suggested, try them both out. The ergonomics and menu operation are important considerations. But the sensors really are close enough it won't matter which you choose.

... except possibly for the Nikon's much greater dynamic range at lower ISO settings.

I prefered the Canon because i had it better in hand , grip just seemed to be exactly at the right place , other factor was the lenses .... i just wanted the 70-300 L which Nikkor didn't have.....what a fab lens.
