Optical viewfinders are hard to find in compact cameras because the zoom is complicated and expensive to duplicate. Would an electronic viewfinder suit you as well?

Eye-level viewfinders are hard to find as well, but not nearly as hard to find as optical viewfinders.

G'day mate

Have a look at this type of camera - price varies / zoom varies / mpx varies but they all have eye-level electronic viewfinders

If the idea seems okay, look at Canon - Fuji - Panasonic amongst others

Hope this helps
Phil

I don't think you will find a camera with an EVF that's good for €200.
f.i. the Panasonic FZ200, a good allround camera, has a more than decent EVF, but it costs allmost the double of your budget.

Hi Rudi and Phil,

sorry for the confusion about the view finder. Any finder will do.It's just a snapshot camera I am after. For the 'serious' work I use my Sony Alpha 380. THis week the good old Canon Ixus 100 IS gave up on us. Very limited in possibilities of course (3 x zoom only) but has a view finder. Good for garden, dog, on trips. No such camera on the market nowadays, it looks like.
Phil, where do you live? We know Oz pretty well.

Cheers,

Willem

Hi

If you don't mind second hand have a look at the Fuji X10 & X20 both should be well under your budget second hand.

Hi guys,

thanks for all your help. I would not mind buying second hand but the shit with the good old Canon happened when on holidays, So today we bought us a Panasonic Lumix TZ61 for 309 euro's.
With viewer, 30 x zoom, 18.1 MP, WiFi and so on and so on.

Cheers,

Willem

The TZ60 (TZ61) is a versatile little camera. Much of pleasure with it.
It's successor the TZ70 (TZ71) has a higher resolution EVF (1,1 mp vs 0,2 mp), but costs more as it is the most recent camera in this series.
