We areexpecting a baby in a month and looking to buy a digital camera that will be easy to use (has scene settings), portable, but is a great camera that will also take excellent pictures. I wouldn't be using manual settings, but I might want to crop and enlarge photos as I learnmore (room to grow).I am loookingin the 4-6 megapixel, $400+ for the basic camerarange and wouldbe very grateful for suggestions. Thank you!

I'm also in the researching phase, so specific recommendations will need to come from elsewhere. But having a 22 month old of my own, I feel comfortable offering a few general ideas...

Most baby pics are spur of the moment things, so a short lag time and quick focus are important. Decent mini-movie capture would be nice as well. Most of the really cute moments are going to be short duration, but again, seriously spontaneous and non-repeating. Ease of use and speed...

Low light would be nice, for those tranquil sleeping pics, but not nearly as essential as quickness and ease.

So, quick, easy, convenient.

Our baby is 7 weeks old today! :-)

For the operating room (C-Section) I used my Casio Z3... was perfect... was the right size, large LCD for easy framing at a hectic time, good exposure and color... For samples goto our webpage at:

I have done some 8X10s from these picts that turned out very nice... The Z3 has been a great camera for those quick photo-ops!

Mr. Saginaw...

You have created an incredible gallery of photos that speak volumes about what family, life, siblings and generations is all about.

It is truly a privelege to be offered this glimpse into your family.

Kylee will certainly be loved by many

Thanks for sharing!
