TOMM! Are you serious about getting a camera or not? Get the Sony W1, great camera, and remember that NO CAMERA IS TO TAKE MOVIES !!! IT is a gimmick to charge you $$ for !! All of cameras take some sequence that they call movies.... Movies take up a lot of memory card space and you better get a Sony movie camera which takes a 3MPX still images than!!

A camera is for still shots, and that is the short of it !!!

Since nobody else appears to want to say anything, I will.

My forum etiquette may not be the best. However, calling someone a moron is "stepping over the line" (much more so than using Caps in a post).

Healthy debate can be good thing.Personal attacks should be avoided.

Well I guess in the computer forums I come from things are a bit different. There, we keep it civil until someone blatantly attacks another, at which point they're hammered on pretty hard. I'll keep your comments in mind here from now on, JimC

Back to the topic...

MyW1 takes nice movies for a digicam. More importantly, great features and controls, and excellent photos.

When shooting, just remember not to put your left thumb over the mike on the bottom.

Kyocera M410R takes movies and does zoom during the movies but I think this uses digital zoom rather than optical, and does movies at 640x480 or 340x280ish at either 15 or 30fps for both resolutions, and with sound. 10mins will be about 512mb (roughly - less/more depending on a plethora of factors).

It's a small camera for a 10x optical zoom but pretty heavy for it's relative small sizeand by no means pocketable (too big)unless you use a raincoat pocket... I would certainly think it would be too big for you if you think the Canon S1 IS is too large too.
