Hi, have been looking inthese forums for adigital camera that would be good for taking photos of sports (I have beenusing a Nikon d70which is no longer available to me) and the most common suggestion seemsto bethe Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2.

I'm probably asking for the impossible here but is there a camera with similar shutter lag (or lack of it?)which is nearer the £400 mark rather than the £520 of the minolta camera?

Cheers

I have no first hand experience with them but the top models from Kyocera (Finecam M410R) and Casio claim very fast operation for a digicam. Steve seemed impressed with the speed of the Kyocera in this review http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/m410.html

Another possibility?

Steve gives similar numbers for the Konica Minolta Z2 at

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/z2_pg5.html

And it's a good price. The new Z3 should be similar and has the advantage of image stabilisation for that long zoom.

Obviously, Minolta's 'thing' is fast reponse.
