I was going for the A80, and bought the G5(it was in special).

After playing with it for a bit, I was i bit disapointed to see purple fringing in a lot of indoors shots.

Is the 300$CA worth it in comparison of the A80 for an extra mp ?

I do most of my photography outdoors and for travelling.

Thanks

Michel

PS: Maybe there's a way to prevent purple fringing?

Michel,

I'm looking at A80 and G5 too, You said that you had a deal on the G5 and you say 300$ca. So you are in Canada I presume? Can you tell me here you find the best price?

thank you

Christian

I'm sorry. I meant 300$CA more than the A80. So I paid 740$. It was at Futureshop, and it was the last one they had.

Except for the problems that I already know about the camera like purple fringing, poor red-eye functions, the quality is excellent.
